Who is SpaceCat?
I have 13 years of experience in the culinary industry. after graduating culinary school in 2012, I moved to Las vegas and cut my teeth working in restaurants with names like Bradley Ogden while also adjusting to working high volume kitchens in casinos and steakhouses near the strip. I used culinary talent to fuel wanderlust across the nation, working in markets like Portland, Denver, San Jose and Durham. I had a knack for finding exciting restaurants trying to do something new, or something better. In 2015 I earned my first Executive Chef Title and didnt look back. Eventually the fast paced restaurant lifestyle took its toll, but I still loved food, so I began moving into the catering sector, while managing the kitchen for a large gourmet grocery store. During this time I also began to battle my addiction and enter a life of sobriety, which I have maintained since 2020. I continued to work in catering with an operation that did wonderful volume, but lacked the passion I wanted to produce. I once again ventured into restaurants, being the executive chef of a brand new restaurant in cocoa beach FL. Again the long Hours and schedule began to take their toll and pulled me away from my recovery. I finally decided there had to be a better way. So I set out to create my own business where I could showcase my passion and love for food, while still maintaining a balance in my life to continue flourishing in recovery, Thus SpaceCat’s Kitchen was born. To me providing others with food is more than a job its a sacred act of providing nourishment and I take great pride in doing so. I hope to be part of your next gathering large or small.
